- Definition, characteristics, block diagram, real life example of embedded system, embedded system development flow, Software development life cycle SDLC, problems in development of system, cart wheel, Embedded GUI: Concept understanding of Embedded GU Analog Design , Digital Design (12 hrs)
- 2. Controller Architecture of PIC and ARM
- Overview of Processors & Microcontrollers , Microcontroller Architecture, General purpose Registers, special purpose register, RISC vs SISC Architecture of PIC, ARM family, Addressing modes Instruction Set, Microcontroller peripherals ,interrupt, timer programming, PWM Compilers, Assemblers Cross compilers Memory (RAM, ROM, EPROM, EEPROM, FLASH) (60hrs)
- 3. Assembly Programming and Embedded C Programming
- Basics of C, Programming Exercises PIC, ARM Microcontroller Interfacings with: LEDs and LCD• DC Motor and Stepper Motor, HEX Keypad ,ADC, DAC.(90hrs)
- 4. Protocols
- Introduction to USB,UART,I2C,SPI,CAN Programming related to protocols. More protocols like Bluetooth,zigbee(45hrs)
- 5. Real time Operating System
- Introduction to RTOS, Process, threads, tasks, inter process communication,Linux introduction, linux programming(45hrs)
- 6. Hardware Design
- Introduction, component selection, study of datasheet, virtual design and simulation (30hrs)
- 7. Independent Project(Guided by instructor) - (30hrs)
